Meditation/Celebration
In the field of architectural design, Meditation is one of the architectural element to put space under the category of personal space which means that Meditation could be about private space rather than public space. On the other hands, Celebration is treating as space for all. For example, in common personal house, living would be the example of Celebration where people can talk and spend time together. With this manner, Roth said, “When I built this chapel, I wanted to create a place of silence, of prayer, of peace and inner joy. The feeling of the sacred inspired our efforts (552).”

Light/Shadow
Light and Shadow are coming together in design even more in our daily lives. For example, When sun rises, there will be shadow if there is anything. As this example, it is important to consider about Light and Shadow in the field of design because it concludes whether one artifact or structure is well-done or not. Moreover, in Asian, especially in Korea, it is the key point to choose a house because there is a field about whether a house is constructed to have enough light if a house has "Light," it would bring good luck and health. "He absorbed the setting, and gradually, the new chapel formed itself in his mind, creating what he would call " a visual echo of the landscape (Roth, 551)."

Transpose/Juxtapose
Transpose and Juxtapose are well-known ideas in the field of architectural design. If you are going to build a place and you manipulated an idea or a part from the past of architecture to finish your work, it would be an example of Transpose because you utilize the idea of the past which is transposing the time. On the other hands, Juxtapose is about utilizing a concept or an idea of different time period together in an object. For example, the use of arch and lintel and post together for the gate of house would be the example. "In his 1949 essay 'Monumentality, Symbolism, and Style," he argued that it was not enough for a contemporary building simply "to be something and do something; it must also say something (Roth, 537)."

Literal/Abstract
Literal and Abstract are the concepts which I have been asking to think and create something based on the Literal and Abstract. By literal, something can be seen and understood by viewers whatever they see. However, as I believe, abstract is about putting a concept and an idea of designer on the artifact. Therefore, an artifact can be understood by viewers with different ways of designer's intent. "...the building form is shaped by the music,...(Roth, 554)."

Monologue/Dialogue
Monologue is spoken by a person. Dialogue is spoken by more than a person. In the field of architectural design, these two prompts could be spoken by following examples. First, if an architecture can be spoken by itself, it would be an example of Monologue. Second, if an architecture is speaking with the built-in environment or nature of its surrounding, it would be an example of Dialogue. "Glass, bare bricks and concrete make the carpet appear an island (Massey, 148)."

Finally, this 13th weekly opus is about pairing down. To show pairing, it needs to be started with concept which could be literal ore abstract. Along with, there would be some kinds of techniques such as light and shadow, meditation and celebration, transpose and juxtapose, and monologue and dialogue. These are needed to be maximize the intent of architect designer.
