Fallingwater and Monticello
There are lots of architectural structures over the world which are used as examples of architecture study, landmark, and symbol of one country. From the American architectural aspect, Fallingwater by Frank Lloyd Wright and Monticello by Thomas Jefferson are well-known as the root of American architecture.
First, Fallingwater has use of nature element as a material of it to emphasize the importance of harmony of human and nature. As I drew, there is an example of its terrace part and the tree which show the harmony of nature and architectural structure where people live in. Fallingwater's overall shape seems like a mountain shape as it is located in the valley of mountain to emphasize its theme.
Second, Monticello shows the potential possibilities of American which represent the root of American architecture. As known, Monticello was built during the middle of the Great Depression. In addition, its overall size is not small as a private house which includes many functional ways such as political and architectural. As Jefferson had more than an occupation, his work Monticello represent Jefferson's life as having divided functional chamber as well. I think Jefferson's Monticello also shows the United States of American through architecture "Monticello" as the United States of America has more than a state to form the United States of American.
This field trip would be a turning point for me as a student of Interior Architecture because it was a good chance to observe the exits architectures which are well-known and important architectures throughout history.
